5 Months Old

Our baby is 5 months old today! Where has time gone? I was thinking back to 5 months ago today....I woke to my water leaking and the thought "is this the real thing or just normal at this stage of pregnancy?" I had a doctors appointment that morning already scheduled so I just waited to see the doctor. She confirmed that my water had broke. I remember my doctor leaving the room for me to get dressed and I looked at Miles and said "Oh my gosh this is really happening!" I was so scared and excited at the same time. Miles just looked shell shocked! We went to the labor/delivery part of the hospital and checked in. It was so surreal! They had to induce me since I wasn't contracting. I was really bummed about that but only wanted what was best for Elle. Miles kept leaving the room....he was so nervous and could not sit still. He was such a great support to me though. He held my hand while I was struggling to get through the contractions and kept me calm and focused! Elle came that night at 9:05 pm and our lives changed forever from that moment on. She was so beautiful....and wide eyed! She was ready to be in this world! 

She is now rolling over, eating cereal, veggies and fruit twice a day, chewing on everything, standing with mommy and daddy's help, drooling non stop, holding her toys, and smiling and laughing constantly. 

We rarely call her by name...Miles has gotten me hooked on calling her either E or BG (short for baby girl) 

Some of our favorite times with her are in the morning when she is the happiest and when we are just lounging around together as a family. She is starting to be such a ham in public. We went to Starbucks this morning and she was blinking hard and smiling at the man behind the counter. She also is reaching for our food and drinks thinking they are hers to have!
