Our friend Brad came to visit from San Diego.
Here we are again! 9 months ago today sweet little E came into our lives and now it feels as if she has always been here. I, honestly, can not remember what we did with ourselves before she arrived. I know the months leading up to her debut I spent my days wondering who she would look like and what her temperament would be like. Just the thought of our whole world changing the moment we met her was such an exciting thing. I never would have imagined time would pass so quickly! I am now that mom telling mommies to be, "enjoy every moment b/c it goes by so fast!"
So, here are what's happenin' with E on a daily basis!
1. Her goal, each and every day, is to try standing up on her own. She is so determined and such a strong girl. She is getting good at standing alone and is very proud of herself when this happens. She giggles and claps for her self!
2. Crawling everywhere. This is a big deal b/c E has never been much of crawler. She would slither to her destination and would stop as soon as she got what she wanted. I was the same way, except I rolled everywhere. I went straight to walking and I think E will be the same way.
3. Worships the dogs. E has always loved Nash and Charley but the love continues to grow stronger and stronger. She gets the biggest kick out of them and I swear she says their names. When she sees Nash she says "Naaa" and with Charley it is more like "AhhhEeee". So cute!
4. Dadadadada! Her favorite person and favorite thing to say!
5. Peek- a- boo. She has just gotten the concept of this game and thinks it is hysterical. She doesn't cover her face or hide she just turns around and then turns facing me again. All the
while clapping and screaming.
6. Dancing queen. The moment Elle hears music or even a talking doll she starts bouncing up and down. Hope she is a dancer like her momma and aunts. She even does it randomly while I am changing her diaper!
7. Dramatic!!! I have no idea who in the world she could have gotten this from :) If E does not get what she wants the moment she wants it is a sight to see. She will shake her head "no" and throw her head back all while fake crying. Wow! Miles and I can not help but laugh.
8. Our newest stage is we are dealing with a little bit of separation anxiety. I had read that this happens at her age but I thought, "not my child, she LOVES everyone!" Well, not so much anymore. She used to let anyone hold her and any stranger come up and talk to her but now she starts crying if she is startled. She gets over it and it doesn't happen all of the time so I hope it is not major.
7. Give me my bottle and put me to bed! E is very particular about her night time routine. She wants to have her bottle (which she chugs in 1 minute) and then does not want to cuddle or be rocked....just straight to bed by 7:00! If that does not happen, we pay for it big time :)
8. Soooo ticklish! One of my favorite things to do with E is tickle her neck, belly and feet. It is so precious to hear her giggle.
9. 12 hours of sleep at night makes mommy and daddy happy! E is a champion sleeper at night. She will go to bed at 7 and not wake up until 7 and sometimes 8. Maybe this is normal but Miles and I are so impressed with it. It is so nice to have the evenings to spend time with each other.
10. Walks, swinging, and grass. E loves to be outside! We go for walks, play in the grass while the dogs run around, and swing several times a day! We are still working on not eating the grass :)
11. Speaking of, everything goes in the mouth! Since we do have dogs and hardwood floors, it is close to impossible to keep things from the floor out of E's mouth. I can only sweep so much! But, I am constantly digging leaves, random fuzz from the rugs and as of a few days ago, BUGS from her mouth.
12. E is now eating pretty much everything we eat with the exception of eggs, peanuts, and fish.
We love you E!!

She totally looks like me in the "caught in the act" picture! I haven't really seen it very much until that picture. She's adorable! I can't wait to see you guys again in a couple of weeks.
Precious! And funny! I definitely see the McHan girls in her. Cannot believe she is already 9 months and I have missed so much. :(
What fun. I love the milestones they meet. Time just keeps flying it seems...
i can't believe she is standing! Caroline just scoots on her bottom across the room. and i understand the seperation anxiety thing, C won't go to anyone she doesn't recognize, she just puts her head on my shoulder. Elle will be walking by Christmas i bet!
